Remember that family reunion I mentioned a while back? Well, here's two more cards that were included in a set that I donated for the silent auction. Totally loving the woodgrain stamp in the bright island color. I punched the labels out of a Good Day Sunshine Accessories sheet by My Mind's Eye. I was able to punch two labels out of the Love "accessory". The "hello" and "thank you" were embossed in white and I filled in a couple little spots where the embossing powder didn't quite stick, using my white gel pen. The labels were popped up using dimensional adhesive and I colored a tiny strip of paper to match the label and glued it to the card, under the label. It's really a simple card and I love the bright colors.

Right now, I'm feeling a renewed happiness and excitement for my Silhouette machine. The company just came out with a new one, called the Silhouette CAMEOâ„¢ but, alas, I purchased the "old" version this year and it really is such a fantastic machine. So, whether you can find the old one or are interested in purchasing the new one, know that it comes highly recommended. If you're not familiar with it, check out the links above. It is basically a digital die-cutting machine that works with your computer. I don't have the best setup at home to keep it out on a desk, so it has been in its box for the past couple months. However, I used it to cut out letters last month for a birthday banner for my nephew's 1st birthday and I can't tell you how much time that saved and the letters were perfect. Here's a picture (not the best photo, but hopefully you get the idea)...
Since the Silhouette was out, I thought I'd make a "Happy Birthday" sign and card I needed for a birthday at work, too. The sign...
Here's the card and the "Quickie Instructions" below the image...
Quickie Instructions: I cut out two decorative "bracket" shapes with the Silhouette. I then scored the top of one of the shapes, applied glue and adhered it to the "front" shape to create a card. I used Distress ink in Wild Honey to antique the edges. I made the bracket shape a bit smaller and used the Silhouette to cut out the smaller "bracket" shape from polka dot patterened paper. I white-washed the paper a bit using Picket Fence Distress Stain. After it was try, I adhered it to the card front. I then typed out the words "Happy Birthday Katrin" in the Silhouette software, using a font from my computer and cut out the letters using the Silhouette. I colored the letters using Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink in Warm Violet. I glued down the letters and then applied glue and glitter around the edge of the cutout patterned paper to create a glittered border.

Decided to paint my nails red with some white snowflakes for the last couple of days that I'm working this week. It's always fun to spice things up! Sasha, by Zoya, is one of my favorite red polish colors. The bottle of polish looks much darker in the picture. The color is really closer to what you see on my nails--a bit brighter but a nice cool-toned red. I added the snowflakes using the Konad stamping "technique."
Supplies used: I couldn't locate the exact bundle of image plates that I used (I purchased mine last year) but if you're looking for a snowflake there are multiple options. Simply do a search on Amazon.com. Here's the rest of my supplies... (*Edited: I found the bundle of Image plates. See below link)

I've been working on a slideshow of photos and short video clips to celebrate the first year of my nephew's life. In the process of learning how to use the programs I have on my computer, I was able to create a fun movie trailer as a sneak peak of the full slideshow/movie. Here it is...

Well, I think it's safe to say that of the different types of cards, birthday cards are the ones I make the most (vs. "Thank you's", etc). For this one, I was trying to make something a little more masculine. The colors are a bit off in the photo but not too bad...
Quickie Instrctions: I had some khaki greenish card stock that I used for the card base. I cut a rectangle of the woodgrain carstock and rounded the two right corners. I then stamped the honeycomb background stamp on some white cardstock. Stamped the "celebrate", circle and definition images on top of of the yellow honeycomb image. I then cut out the circle next to the border of the stamped circle image. Stamped the word "BIRTHDAY"on some green cardstock Adhered the pieces onto the cardstock using foam 3D squares for the circle. Outlined the woodgrain cardstock with dashes using the white Signo pen.
